Estive a ler uns feedbacks sobre a aplicação da admissão cupra e encontrei aqui um pequeno artigo noutro forum lá do estrangeiro que acho que pode ser util a alguns antes de efectuar esta mod:
MONEY BURNS
Well I sadly cant leave things along when it comes to cars, as I sit writing this out, am already thinking of my next plan. Even if it makes no diffrence to the car at all, it must be done to say its been done...if that makes sense. First mod I tend to do is fix the cars breathing, done it with my other cars and had diffrent effects on all. Best car ive had a good response from was my old smart car. Had a RS Carbon Slambox with a K&N filter and insulated standard airbox, the result? amazing sound, and lots more pull, I kid you not, cracking little engine, awesome sound. Then I had a C2 VTR again BMC CDA induction kit made the car sound incredible, bit more low end grunt, and then it started predetenating in 3rd...hmmm? My point is theres plenty of systems and ideas of what people feel helps the car gain more ummmph! Depending on what car as well, i can say hand on heart that my mods on the smart made a HUGE diffrence compared to the mods on the C2! So when it came to doing the skoda I was very intrested to see what would happen. Ive never done a deisisisiel engine before so it was very excited to see how the car would respond.
THE RESEARCH
After most people highly recommened the pd160 intake and some form of non standard filter into a furby vrs it seemed like a good option, good enough for a vrs? good enough for my 3cylinder BEAST! Its not a cheap mod, you kinda feel a bit dim when some tubing comes threw the post that you have forked out over �80 for, not to mention the filter, �45 in my case. First off I ran the car for a good 2k miles with just the filter placed in, and my findings are? umm... well nothing really. mpg was the same, alittle more torque, and with people following behind me the "is my car smoking when I floor it test?" showed that the car wasnt smogging to much, a good sign then perhaps? So you can guess how very excited i was to fit the intake to the car. First thing I noticed strait away was how you could hear the turbo whistle alittle more, for me its quiet a satisfying sound and one which gave great first impressions. Induction noise hadnt changed at all, so no stupid rumbles and grumbles that ive come to find in the past. Most of the time if I give the old girl a bit of boot I tend to change gear strait after 3k! There seems to be no reason for going any higher, but since the intake has been fitted I can say with confidence its worth going to 3.3k there is a wonderful extra little kick, as the engine can find alittle more to help it keep powering on. What was the most amazing shock was after doing around 2k miles with it on, was how the power band had smoothed it selfout. I recently went into another 1.4TDi it had done more millage but you got that Duse Pump kick that massive BANG of all the power coming in 1 big ball. I can say mine does not do that at all, its power delivery is wonderful and smooth, which may not please every one who get addicted the DP BANG.
IS IT WORTH THE WIFE/GIRLFRIEND SHOUTING TO BUY IT?
So nitty gritty is it worth the money? Well no and yes its hard to explain really, I found the gains were good, but worth the extra money? hmm? not to sure? ill be intrested to see how the car runs with a remap when i get that done and I will update the thread. Firstly if your thinking of just changing the filter dont bother! I gained nothing at all! However the intake did help..but �80 is alot for what you get. My advise is if you have more money than sense.....like myself then go for it, but if your the type of person who isnt, I would recommend if you find one going cheaper than �80 something like �60 it might be worth your time!
